The day May 19, 2016 sepublicó the call 2016 2016 LIFE Programme of the European Commission. The call covers the proposals of both sub-programs: Environment and Climate Action. The total budget for this call is € 337,536,184.

In the Sub-program Environment, with a budget of € 273,936,184, subsidies for traditional, Preparatorios, and Integrated Technical Assistance projects will be covered. At least 55% of the allocation to be devoted to environmental projects that contribute to the conservation of nature and biodiversity.
 
In the Sub-program for Climate Action, endowed with € 63,600,000, the call will cover grants for traditional, integrated and Technical Assistance projects.
 
Proposals may be submitted by legal persons (entities) registered in the European Union. Applicants may be classified into three types of beneficiaries:

1. public organisms,
2. commercial private organizations and
3. private non-commercial organizations (including NGOs).
